I admit that I am another sucker of facebook. I find it so easy to put small posts up on there, add phots, and read what everyonoe else is up to that I totally neglect this part of our website. (And I'm sure a few more things I should be keeping up on as well!) So, I apologize if you are one of our active journal readers, I'll try to do better! We have had a great start to fall training, Ed is training 32 dogs as of right now. He's trying to get the number closer to 24 as he weeds out yearlings and older dogs from his team. If they get "cut" from his race team, that means they move to the touring team. We have a great group of touring dogs this year, including some long time favorites, Arlo, Coach, Gimli, Big Ben, and Jester. Jess is managing our touring kennel this year, and will have five guides working with her, Lyndsie, James, Matt, Rudy, and Kate. Lyndsie is from California, so she shared a ride out with Jess and has been here a couple of weeks. The rest of the crew will be arriving this coming weekend. We are excited to have more help for dog running and puppy-loving. Ed is doing all of his race training alone, and likes the fact that he's the only one responsible for training his dogs. He has also been helping with our most important job around the kennel, Nate training (right now the two are taking their afternoon siesta together on the couch, great training, dad--it's like being lazy without being lazy!). Nate is really fun around the kennel, loves to press his body against the puppy pen and have the puppies scratch at his jacket, feeds them from his food scooper and points out all the poop we have missed. His vocabulary is growing, he pretty clearly says: poop, hole, dig dig, tractor, bird, and hot. Guess he's a bit used to following us around outside!
