Day Trips
Half Day Trips, Full Day Trips and Moonlit Rides 2013-2014
DRIVE YOUR OWN DOG TEAM or Take a Ride in the Sled!
Our guided day trips are available 7 days a week. Half day trips run from 9-noon or 1-4 pm and Full Day trips are from 9-3 pm and include lunch on the trail.  Guests on our day trips can choose to drive their own team OR ride in the sled driven by the guide.  There are no shared sleds on any of our trips, passengers always ride with an experienced driver (guide).  Children must be 10 years old to drive their own sled. 


Day Trip #1 Half-Day Trip Meet the incredible Iditarod sled dogs of Nature's Kennel! You'll receive a kennel tour, a chance to hold the adorable puppies, and the opportunity to drive your OWN dog team on our 10-mile loop. Drivers must be over 10 years old. No experience necessary as you will be under the care of one of our fabulous, experienced guides. Allow approximately 3 hours for instruction, dog sledding and a cup of hot chocoate and cookies at the end of your tour.  Cost: $180 per person. It is possible to add a rider to your trip, the cost for a RIDE ONLY is $90 per person (children 3-12 years old $45, under 3, free). The rider will ride in the GUIDE'S sled.
Day Trip #2 Full-Day Trip Meet the incredible Iditarod sled dogs of Nature's Kennel! You'll receive a kennel tour, a chance to hold the adorable puppies, and the opportunity to drive your OWN dog team on our 20-mile loop. Your trip will include a stop along the trail for warm drinks and a light lunch. Drivers must be over 10 years old. No experience necessary as you will be under the care of one of our fabulous, experienced guides. Allow approximately 5 hours for instruction, dog sledding, and a cup of hot chocoate and cookies at the end of your tour. Cost: $320 per person and includes a complimentary photo CD of your adventure. It is possible to add a rider to your trip, the cost for a RIDE ONLY is $150 per person. The rider will ride in the GUIDE'S sled.  We recommend our 1/2 day trip for riders/guests under 12 years old. 
Full Moon Rides Sled dogs LOVE to run at night, so here's your chance to ride along on a moonlit winter night! Our full moon rides take place at night on selected winter evenings. This is a RIDE ONLY. Your guide will drive the sled (using headlamp if necessary) as you snuggle in the sled while the dogs cruise down the winter trail enjoying the magic of a full moon on a winter night. Cost: $250 per sled. Our sleds accomodate up to two adults or an adult and two children. Please arrive at the kennel at 7:30 PM.

Reservation/Cancellation Information: 1/2 of the cost of the trip must be paid to hold the reservation(s), payable by credit card or personal check made to Nature's Kennel. The balance must be paid at the end of the trip. If trip is canceled due to weather conditions, a full refund will be issued. If trip is canceled less than three weeks prior to trip date due to participant request, the down payment will not be refunded. . How to find us: At McMillan (located along M-28), there is a flashing yellow light, at the light, turn north onto CR 415/McMillan Ave. Go north about 8 miles until you come to a stop sign. Go through the stop and Nature’s Kennel is the second driveway on the left. There is a big sign at the driveway. DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS, FOLLOW THESE WRITTEN DIRECTIONS!
