Dog Sledding Day Trips: 10-mile and 20-mile Options
Our day trips are suitable for guests of all ages and abilities. You can choose to learn to drive your own team or to take a ride in the sled with the guide. Children must be 10 years old to drive their own team. If you choose to be a passenger, you'll ride in the sled sled driven by an experienced guide (no novice drivers/guests are allowed to carry passengers in their sled). Reservations are required for all trips. The cost of the trip includes: dog sledding instruction, the opportunity to help harness and un-harness your dog team, warm drinks and snacks when we return to the kennel, and extra warm boots to borrow (we do not charge for boot rental).

Cancellation Policy: We require three weeks advance notice for a full refund of your deposit. If the cancellation is made within less than three weeks of the trip date and if we can fill the spot with another guest, we will issue a trip refund less a $50 cancellation fee per person. If the cancellation is within 48 hours or less of the trip date, NO REFUND will be issued. If Nature's Kennel has to cancel due to a lack of snow (which is very unlikely), then a full refund will be issued.

10-Mile Dog Sledding Trip
Learn to Drive your Own Team or Ride
10-Mile or Half-day Trips allow guests the opportunity to drive their own dog team 10 miles on our scenic trails. This is our most popular trip and it's great for families or large groups.
10-Mile Trips begin at either 9 am OR 1 pm. The time frame of your tour includes sled driving instruction, the opportunity to help hook up and un-hook the dogs and a stop along the trail for photos.

COST: Weekday trips: $260 per person to drive your own sled, $470 for a
1 driver/1 rider option, or $420 for two riders.

Weekend/Holiday trips: $285 per person to drive your own sled, $520 for a 1 driver/1 rider option, $470 for two riders.

Children ages 4 and under are free, ages 5 -10 are $85 each to ride in the sled. Half-day trips are available 7 days a week. Inquire for availability.
20-Mile Dog Sledding Trip

20-Mile or Full-Day Trips begin at 9:30 am and allow guests the opportunity to drive their own dog team 20 miles on our scenic winter trails through Michigan's Upper Peninsula wilderness. This trip also includes a traditional UP pastie lunch upon return to the kennel.
The time frame of your tour includes sled driving instruction, the opportunity to help hook up and un-hook the dogs, and stops along the trail for photos.
COST: Weekday trips: $410 per person to drive your own sled, $750 for a 1 driver/1 rider option.

Weekend/Holiday trips: $435 per person to drive your own sled, $780 for a 1 driver/1 rider option.
Note that the rider rides in the sled with the guide. The riders/drivers can switch during the trip. 20-Mile trips are available 7 days a week. Inquire for availability.
