Take winter to the extreme and try something new this winter with our dog sledding and ice climbing adventure!  Nature’s Kennel has teamed up with Downwind Sports to offer a NEW ADVENTURE!!

This trip is designed for people with little to no experience.  All sessions (both dog sledding and ice climbing) are fully guided.  This trip is designed for adults and children ages 10 and up.  The dog sledding portion includes a 20-mile (3-4 hour) excursion and the ice climbing is also a 3-4 hour session.

Trip includes all excursions, lodging, meals and tips. Each trip date is limited to 10 participants.  Cost: $1180 per person.

Considerations for social distancing and COVID safety have been taken.  Dog sledding and ice climbing, by nature, are outside activities which require adequate space between people.  No group transportation is offered, but maps to all locations will be provided and you will be accompanied by a guide (Tasha, owner of Nature’s Kennel) to and from all activities.  All lodging and most meals are at Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn, which is a private inn and has adequate space for private dining.

Day One:  Arrive at beautiful Chamberlin’s Ole Forest Inn in Curtis, MI in time for dinner (provided).  Meet Tasha, owner of Nature’s Kennel, who will be your guide for the duration of your trip. A short presentation on the Upper Peninsula will take place during dinner.

Day Two:  After a hearty breakfast, arrive at Nature’s Kennel at 10 AM.  You’ll have the opportunity to meet the amazing sled dogs of Nature’s Kennel, and receive all the instruction necessary to drive your own dog team on a guided 20-mile dog sledding trip.  Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included.

Day Three:  After a hearty breakfast, arrive in Munising at Downwind Sports at 9 AM.  You’ll meet your guide, receive ice climbing gear, and make your way to some spectacular ice formations.  Lunch will be at Falling Rock Café and the afternoon will be spent doing some guided hiking to waterfalls around Munising area.  Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included.

Day Four:   Breakfast (included) and Departure (on your own).
